Melbourne RECOUNT #1

10th - 14th November 2008
:D substitute schoolies.

Summary: "UPGRADE!!"

So, Melbourne was an interesting experience :) Pearlie, Stephy, Eva and I went up (or is it down?! =\ ) to Melbourne for 4days straight of shopping galore! The fun points outweigh the gloomy ones for sure... so... here's a summary of our 4day vacances.

Résumé:
10th November Monday
Walked for 30minutes with all our suitcases to find our 'Victorian Hotel: All Seasons'. Asked multiple of people on the streets where to find the damn hotel - one claimed "2blocks away" - which really turned into 5blocks.

Finally, after making our way into the hotel... our faced went from glee to shock ^^ simply because it looked nothing like the photos back at home. Well... according to Stephy, apparently, 10 years ago - this hotel was just amazing. [Let me emphasise 10 years ago.]

Our Room: LEVEL 3 ROOM 152 (something or rather...)
Ok, so this is where all the fun starts -_-'' We had a couple of combined reactions:
1. "WAHH IT'S... UMM.... ERR... SMALL..."
2. "Ooo THERE'S A BLACK BIG SCREEN TV! YES! WAIT! THERE'S NO REMOTE CONTROL!"
3. "HOW DO I LOCK THE BATHROOM DOOR?" Reply: "YOU CAN'T!"
4. "WHERE'S THE KEY TO THE SAFE?!"
Calls the office downstairs: "Excuse me, how do we use and lock our safe?"

Reply: "Umm sorry, you're room is missing the safe key... so... why don't you bring all your
valuables into our big generic safe donwstairs?"

[Thinks: "YEAH RIGHT."] "No thankyou. I will call you back."

Discussion amongst the group: "Ok - call them back and tell them you demand a safe key now!!"

Calls the office downstairs: "Hello again. I think we really do need a safe key in our room please."

Reply (different man this time - has an indian accent): "Umm sorry, you're room seems to be missing a key... How about we upgrade you to another room? We are sorry about this."

[Thinks: "SCORE!"] "Oh.. ok... thankyou..."

Reply (indian accent man): "I will send a porter boy up there in just a moment."

5MINUTES LATER...

*KNOCK KNOCK*
Indian voice at door: "Hellooo I'm the porter boy, here to take you to your new room."

[Thinks: "Oh... he sounds like the guy on the phone... so wait... HE WAS THE PORTER BOY?!"] While desperately trying to avoid cracking up: "OH... THANKYOU!" GRIN.

MOVED UP ONE LEVEL (TAKE ALL OUR LUGGAGE BACK UP ELEVATOR)

5. NEW ROOM conversation: "OH WOW... THERE'S A SAFE LOCK, A TV REMOTE... AAAND... A BATHROOM LOCK! :D WOWZERS..."
6. [THINKS: "NEXT TIME WE HAVE A PROBLEM... WE SHOULD DEMAND ANOTHER UPGRADE!! :D]
7. Uh Oh... The bathroom door doesnt slide... 'UPGRADE! UPGRADE! UPGRAAADE!"

THE VISIT TO THE "POOL"
to be finished...
